Paulownia wood has nong been used for musical instrument in the far easr. It is now available for guitar bodies.
Paulonia is considered environmentally friendly as the trees are extremely fast growing and can be harvested in as little as 5 years.
The wood also has a nice grain which can be stained and varnished. Alternatively it can be painted.
It is difficult to show the grain well in a photograph.
This wood has the advantage over most other guitar body woods of being much lighter.
The blocks that I sell are made of several planks ( 3 or 4) planed and glued together, then both sides planed smooth. The result is quite a large piece that is sufficient for most electric guitar or bass guitar bodies.
The pieces are cut with a guitar body in mind, so one side is often wider than the other and the bottom plank is usually left longer than the top one. If you need exact dimensions then please ask before you purchase, but typically you can expect 35cm across back, 34cm across front, 54cm long bottom 46cm along top and 43mm thick.
