Ash is an expensive wood with a very attractive grain which can be stained and varnished. Alternatively it can be painted.
It is difficult to show the grain well in a photograph. The grain will be much more pronounced when the body has been finished.
The blocks that I sell are made of several planks ( 3 or 4) planed and glued together, then both sides planed smooth. The result is quite a large piece that is sufficient for most electric guitar or bass guitar bodies.
The pieces are cut with a guitar body in mind, so one side is often wider than the other and the bottom plank is usually left longer than the top one. If you need exact dimensions then please ask before you purchase, but typically you can expect 34cm across back, 33cm across front, 54cm long bottom 46cm along top and 43mm thick.
